in our beautiful Hopewell Borough parks...
a new play space with something for everyone, inspired by children and built by community. That is the mission of the Hopewell Borough Playground Project--a grassroots effort to create unique play spaces in Hopewell Park (at S. Greenwood Ave. and Columbia Ave.) and Hopewell Mini-Park (at Railroad Place). The current equipment in these parks cannot reasonably reach compliance with the new state building codes, and the Hopewell Borough municipal budget does not have the extra money for replacement equipment. By working together to solve these issues, we can create one-of-a-kind playgrounds to be enjoyed for years to come, and in the process, we will build more "community" within our community.
The Hopewell Borough Playground Project is bringing together Hopewell Valley volunteers of all ages (kids, teens, adults, senior citizens) to design, fund, and build the new spaces. With community contributions, volunteer help, and donated materials, we will create "dream playgrounds" that are...
- Fun, imaginative, and different.
- Safe, educational, and accessible for all abilities.
- Complimentary to the serene atmosphere and historic character of our parks.
- Made of environmentally-conscious materials.
- More than playgrounds--community gathering spaces for everyone to enjoy.
