Over several days in June 2009, hundreds of enthusiastic volunteers will work side-by-side to construct the new playgrounds. Leathers’ construction consultants, along with volunteer construction captains from the community, will oversee quality and efficiently lead hundreds of volunteers. Community members will come and go as their schedules permit, working anywhere from a few hours to all five (or more) days. The food committee will keep the volunteers well-fed, happy, and strong, while the childcare committee will care for children to allow parents to participate.

After several intense days of cutting, drilling, hoisting, and joining, our Hopewell parks and community will be forever changed. We will have fun, child-inspired, play spaces--with something for everyone--that compliment the historic character and serene atmosphere of our beautiful Hopewell Borough parks. And, we will have built more "community" within our community--our pride and enthusiasm will be tangible.
